This is not a health food publication. Nor is it foodie. Olio is about real food and honest conversations. Think: New York City explored through deli sandwiches, dumplings, and diner pancakes. You’ll find impassioned odes to great food hiding in plain sight, interviews with artists and chefs alike, and not-recipes you maybe won’t be able to remake at home. Olio explores the outer boroughs of our diverse home — through spice shops in Queens, buffets in Staten Island, friends’ refrigerators, forgotten ingredients, and the very best of bodega signage. Sometimes they do events too.
